I have been going big hair crazy over on my Pinterest page. So many bouffants, beehives, up do's and a whole lotta hairspray on one page. So this little pattern that's big on hair was born. I think it would be perfect on make up cases, bags, scarves and as someone suggested a sweet silk blouse.
After a post on the Design Files Instagram page, a bunch of different artists jumped on board to spread Peter Drew's anti racist message 'Real Australians Say Welcome'.
He designed and screen printed 1000 of his own posters with this message, and he is plastering them up all over Australia (in all 8 capital cities!) You can follow his travels on Instagram or on Facebook.
I had such nice feedback from my image and had requests to turn it into a print. So it is now available as an A3+ and A2 poster. Just email email@example.com if you would like one.
My printed Jungle Room cushions just arrived in the mail! I am super chuffed with the quality. The colours are spot on and they are printed on a soft linen textured fabric, not too dissimilar to a backcloth which I love! I've attached some close up pics of the fabric below to show the texture. The same image appears on the front and back and they are finished with an invisible zip. Sweet!
There will be more designs to come but I currently have just a few of the Jungle Room cushions 16" x 16" (41 x 41cm) available for sale in the shop, retailing for AUD$55 plus GST. Sold without the insert.
Registered postage in Australia is $7.50. International postage with tracking is $23.
It's birthday month so I'm celebrating with a sale. 20% off store wide!
That means big savings especially on the big prints. Ends Sun 19th April at 9pm AEST. Use promo code BIRTHDAY at checkout. International shipping available.
Here are some photos to show sizing of the larger prints. The A0 is a whopper. More large print designs will be coming to the shop soon!
Please be sure to subscribe to the blog to hear all updates and news on future sales.

I recently had the pleasure of designing these business cards for Melbourne photographer Steen Vestergaard. The brief was to have a retro, old school glamour vibe with a fashion/photographer element. I was thinking Dior, Audrey Hepburn, you know the classics, and came up with several designs.
Steen being a dream client decided to go with 3 of the designs and then we agreed that letterpress printing would be the best way to go. Ace! The Hungry Workshop did a sterling job of the 2 colour print job and I am super happy with results. Letterpress printing has such a nice tactile quality and hopefully these will stand the test of time through different fashion trends like an old classic.
I was asked along with the talented Kat Macleod to sketch fashion outfits live in store for some of Myer Melbourne's customers. It was part of their Autumn Winter 2015 launch in the Myer Workroom created by Gloss Creative. Lucky shoppers (and instagram fans) came along to have their outfit of the day sketched onto an already drawn silhouette created by both of us.
I must confess I was pretty daunted at the thought of drawing live in front of people, (especially when one is used to scribbling away in their own hidey hole), but I am glad that I said yes! It was fun meeting, chatting and drawing everyone's outfits from young kids to adults.
This lady was aahhmazing! So stylish. You don't see enough people wearing hats. We had long chats about her vintage clothes collection (which sounded pretty wild) and well I just thought she was ace and I could have chatted all day.
It was busy! Four days of non stop drawing and lots of happy customers. Did I mention the customers got to keep the sketch! You can see more on my instagram page @nerylwalker
Hope you have a ripper! See you in the New Year. Cheers!
Big thanks to those of you who ordered prints this year! The store only opened in July so it has been interesting to see which images are popular and which are not! I'm hoping to amp it up next year by adding some new prints and products so stay tuned. And please subscribe to this blog to hear about future discounts and giveaways during the year.
The store will actually remain open for the holiday season and orders will be taken but they will not be sent until January 21st. Sorry for any inconvenience! Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with any enquiries.
I have also loved seeing your Neryl prints framed and hanging in happy homes. I'd love to post more of these on my instagram page so if you do happen to take a pic, please tag #nerylinthehouse
Wishing everyone a happy holiday season! 2015 should be a good one.
I finally saw The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier at the NGV in Melbourne. So amazing!! I knew I would like this show but it really did blow me away. So creative and inspirational with freakishly amazing workmanship and details. Loved the kooky talking mannequins too. I forgot my camera but found these pics online so I can share some of his subversive amazingness. It's hard to post only a few pics, the show is huge! If you are in Melbourne go before it ends Feb 8th 2015.
There's a new print in the house! The Jungle Room. I've had this girl lurking around but she's finally ready for you in the shop. She prints up big, up to A0 poster size.
The Jungle Room was my favourite room at Graceland. It was so ridiculously over the top, so I thought she should hang here. More is more, no? Do you think Elvis would approve?

Always exciting getting samples in the mail! i just received some printed fabric swatches from Spoonflower and I am chuffed with the results. The first 'Showgirls' shown here printed on combed cotton. Perfect for lingerie, pyjamas, make up bags, pillowcases, whatever really! Lots of different fabrics to choose from including silk crepe and faux suede. Also available in gift wrap. Sweet!
And another sample of 'Droplets' on Eco Canvas. This fabric would be good for tote bags, cosmetic bags, upholstery and toys, etc. Hmmm what to make?
There are more designs to come too. I would love to see any items made with this fabric so please send me a pic and I'll post on Instagram. Follow me @nerylwalker
This was my entry for the Global Talent search. The brief was to create a piece of Wall Art with 'Little Terrariums' as the theme. it was a pretty open brief but had to include one word of text. I didn't make the cut but you can see the 50 winners (and all other 999 entries) here. There are still 2 rounds of briefs to go to choose one final winner. Good luck to everyone in Round 2!
Whoot! Well it is long overdue and finally arrived. A new updated website! Big thanks to my hard working art director/designer hubby @haynsie for helping me create this. A labour of love….non?
My blog will move from http://nerylwalker.blogspot.com.au to here but I will keep it up for the time being.
Glad you could stop by, make a cuppa and stay a while. I love visitors!
