VOGUE'S FASHION'S NIGHT OUT AT MYER

Last Friday night was Vogue's Fashion Night Out in Melbourne and I was asked back to sketch outfits live at Myer. Each outfit is quickly sketched on a body template and the customer gets to keep the drawing as a memento of their outfit of the day. It's always fun to meet and draw such different stylish ladies, see the current trends and draw like a crazy lady! Some people waited in a queue for over an hour so I hope I got to draw you! I went as quick as my fingers would go.

Here are some of my fave sketches of the night. Lots of leather, long coats, capes and black. Well it was Melbourne! Thanks to Jacky Winter, Myer and Vogue Australia for having me.

You can check my instagram page for a little flipagram of the day @nerylwalker

LIVE FASHION DRAWING AT THE MYER WORKROOM

I was asked along with the talented Kat Macleod to sketch fashion outfits live in store for some of Myer Melbourne's customers. It was part of their Autumn Winter 2015 launch in the Myer Workroom created by Gloss Creative. Lucky shoppers (and instagram fans) came along to have their outfit of the day sketched onto an already drawn silhouette created by both of us.

I must confess I was pretty daunted at the thought of drawing live in front of people, (especially when one is used to scribbling away in their own hidey hole), but I am glad that I said yes! It was fun meeting, chatting and drawing everyone's outfits from young kids to adults.

This lady was aahhmazing! So stylish. You don't see enough people wearing hats. We had long chats about her vintage clothes collection (which sounded pretty wild) and well I just thought she was ace and I could have chatted all day.

It was busy! Four days of non stop drawing and lots of happy customers. Did I mention the customers got to keep the sketch! You can see more on my instagram page @nerylwalker

Thanks to Jacky Winter and Myer Melbourne for having me!
